Developer Enterprise Property Group Ltd gives Christmas help to homeless charity – Jimmy’s

Cambridgeshire-based Enterprise Property Group Ltd (EPGL) is lending a helping hand again at Christmas to local charity, Jimmy’s, which has been providing help for the homeless in Cambridge for over 20 years.

Staff at the EPGL offices will be supporting Jimmy’s, donating items on ‘Jimmy’s Christmas Wish List’ with anything from toiletries and food items to sleeping bags, DVDs and even pet stockings!  Cash donations are also being put towards the purchase of items on the Jimmy’s Amazon wish list.  The award-winning developer is committed to providing help to local organisations and charities, offering support to those who require assistance at a difficult time in their lives and to give those who seek help from Jimmy’s a warm and happy Christmas.

Neil Davison, Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Property Group Ltd, comments: “We are pleased that all our staff continue to be involved in supporting such a worthwhile charity, which provides local people with emergency accommodation and supported housing for those who would otherwise be homeless.  Our aim at each of our developments is to be part of a real community, so we are keen to support local charities such as Jimmy’s that do so much to keep people off the streets and continue to make a very real difference to people’s lives throughout the year and particularly at Christmas time.”

Jimmy’s opened its first all-year-round night shelter over 20 years ago.  Jim Dilley was a known rough sleeper in the region who spent many of his nights under the bridge at junction 13 on the M11. Joan and Richard, Jimmy’s founders, knew him well and made it their mission to prevent others from suffering a similar plight.  The charity was aptly named in his memory and his story inspired the bridge in their logo.  Five years ago Jimmy’s Assessment Centre was launched, providing not only a bed for the night and short-term support but engaging daytime activities, and a focus on resettlement and life skills training with a view to achieving long-term positive outcomes.
